WATER HEATING

20 years of efficient/renewable hot water solutions for homeowners and businesses

It is probably safe to say we take hot water for granted. And we consume a lot:

  • A typical family of four uses 22,000 gallons of hot water per year. This would fill a 30 foot diameter round pool that is 8 feet deep. Each year!

  • A single 24-unit apartment building uses 350,000 gallons of hot water per year. This would cover an acre with 1 foot of hot water (1 acre/foot of water) each year!

REAL WORLD EXAMPLE: SURPRISING STATS ON HOT WATER USE.

Larkspur Apartments is a 6-building affordable housing complex (across from Kenyon Noble on Oak St in Bozeman). Some realistic estimates:

  • 1.8 million gallons of hot water consumed per year;

  • the 16 commercial solar hot water systems have heated approximately 10 million of gallons of hot water (70% of annual hot water demand);

  • and saved tenants an estimated $386,000 in electric water heating costs since construction in 2016 (8 years).
